Taking place at the University of New South Wales (UNSW)’s Main Walkway, INM embraces the theme of “KELANA: Kembali Langkah Menuju Makna”, which translates to “Wandering: Another Step Towards Meaning”. This theme invites visitors to reflect on the past and seek meaning in moving forward, symbolizing a journey of growth and discovery. The Indonesian Night Market aims to cater to Indonesians seeking a taste of home while also serving as a cultural bridge to introduce Indonesian culture to a diverse audience.
Visitors can indulge in classic Indonesian delicacies such as Satay, Martabak, and more, representing different regions of Indonesia. While enjoying the food, attendees can witness a parade, and a variety of performances including Gamelan, special student and committee performances, and traditional dances. Additionally, visitors can immerse themselves in Indonesian culture through our ‘Podjok Boedaya’ (translates to ‘Cultural Corner’) which offers engaging workshops, activities, and games.
The event is open to the public and free of entry fees. Make sure to mark your calendars for this one-night-only experience!
Indonesian Night Market also welcomes sponsors and collaborations to help realize its mission.
